Addie celebrating the big 1-0

We had so much fun with Addie in her 10th month. She has become quite the little bundle of energy!  Addie now has 8 teeth, is climbing up stairs, walking running along furniture...and is waking up twice a night.  Yeah, we don't really know what is going on with that last one :)

Our sweet little girl LOVES to play and be with people.  It is sometimes challenging to get her to play by herself for even the shortest amount of time, but we are really enjoying the personable little lady she is becoming.  One habit that Addie has picked up in her 10th month is carrying things in her mouth.  Remind you of someone?  coughMIAcough.  Another funny little thing?  Little Addie drinks her bath water. We pretty much can't keep her mouth off of anything.

There is a peek into our last month. It doesn't begin to express how much fun we having and how much Addie's personality is blossoming.  Love you baby girl!

Three quarters of a year...

This past week Addie celebrated her 9 month birthday.  Her 9th month was quite the adventure, our baby girl has a busy and determined personality, always on the move and with a strong sense of adventure. She keeps us on our toes each and every day.

Yes folks, that is a snot bubble coming out of a gerber-looking baby :)  Addie has had quite the cold this month...lets just say that we've seen LOTS of bubbles.
Lots of walks and trips to the park!
Our little climber is fascinated with the dishwasher. And pretty much everything else that she isn't supposed to touch.
We are up to 3 meals a day and a snack. Addie eats mostly fruits and vegetables, but we have been working in some cereal and grains. If you try to use a spoon, I'll latch on and never let go.
I moved our Tupperware cupboard to a bottom cabinet, she keeps busy emptying it on a daily basis!
That little mouth has 6 teeth now. And yes, those bad boys will leave a mark.
Overall our baby girl is still a good sleeper, though since being sick she hasn't been sleeping through the  night for the last couple of weeks. She seem to finally be on the mend now, so hopefully we can get back into routine during month 10!
With that being said, Addie is still one of the happiest babies in the world. It was so fun to be able to dedicate her at church this past month and dress her up for Halloween.  Now we are looking forward to hanging out with cousin Emma, Thanksgiving in Iowa and a roadtrip to see Uncle Christopher!

Headboard, hallway art, light revamp and more!

One of our favorite things about having a house, is the freedom to change anything and everything about it to make it ours.  I drown my brain in DIY and design blogs throughout the day and now I can't seem to get enough of it at home.  Projects are addicting.  Like coffee addicting. Just when we are feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and/or broke...another idea pops in, we hop up and are back in action.

I laugh to myself writing this..what is the "our" and "we" stuff?  Don't get me wrong, my hubs is more than willing to help out...but I don't know how often I see him "hop up" with the anticipation of a new project :)

We've intentionally limited our traveling this fall and it has provided some extra snuggles at home and a little spare time for DIYs, here are some pictures to prove it!

Last July Bryan bought home an old door from work, it only took us 4 months to use the boards to make a headboard!

When going through my keepsakes box  in September, I really wanted to find a way to incorporate something from my nursery into Addie's. These pictures worked perfect!  I spray painted the frames to spruce them up and now they go wonderfully above the rocking chair.

Hallway art.  To the right is an Instagram wall - those pictures are just too good to forget!  At the end of the hallway is a painting found at a garage sale. I fancily wrote "Wear out the words I love you" over the beach scene, this is a quote from the first song we danced to at our wedding.  Now when I wonder down the hallway throughout the day, I find myself thinking of my love and humming one of my favorite songs!

Since moving into our home, I've had the itch to paint the outside of our house. From top to bottom it is a beige color -if not repainting the whole thing, I at least wanted to paint to trim to add some variation.  Painting the front door a cheerful color did just the trick.

One other thing that we've been trying to figure out since purchasing our home is how to add more light into the addition. There was a 3-bulb chandelier off to the right above a table with the previous owners.  However, we removed the light a while back and in the evenings we just couldn't get things bright enough. Floor lamps are nice, but with an infant/toddler, we are trying to minimize things on the floor.  The pictures above show what we've come up with. So far we are happy with the results.

A few more projects down...another million to go :)

Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

We celebrated pretty low-key this year, a short play date down the street & handing out candy to any witches, super heroes, and skunks that came our way :)

Bronchoticulitis

We've had our first sweep of cold blow through the Pearson household and sadly enough, Addie wasn't able to bounce back from hers without a little help.  After a visit to the doctor yesterday, we got sent home with a nebulizer and a prescription of 10 minute treatments, 3 times a day for 2 weeks.

My heart hurts for our sweet baby girl, but I know that she isn't in too much pain.  More than anything, she hates to sit for the treatments!  So laying in bed last night, trying to fall asleep, I spent some time in prayer.  I prayed for the health of little Addie but the bulk of these prayers were lifted up for other sick kids around the world. I can't imagine watching my baby struggle with leukemia, the whooping cough, or any other life-threatening illness.  I'm noticing how God uses the "little" things in my life to call me to prayer for the "bigger" things in others' lives around me. It gives me a grateful heart and grows my love for others.

What have you been praying for?

Give your kiddos a big kiss tonight!

Addition Revamp

Last weekend Grandpa & Grandma Bock came for a few days to help with a fewer (large scale) house projects. My dad was in charge of tearing out some built in cabinets, removing some wood flooring, taking out the laundry shoot, installing gutter gaurds, trimming a tree, patching holes in the as-fault and adjusting curtain rods...amongst other things.  My mom "had" to watch Addie while I served as an assistant :)  Needless to say, we are super grateful for a hard-working and generous family!!

I'm lacking for original pictures, but here is one of when we first bought the house and were beginning to paint.

Here are some pictures from the spring after we bought some furniture...

And then I decided to paint the built-ins white to brighten things up-

And current pictures! We removed the built-ins and got new carpet, shortening up the wood floor in front of the door.

Now the room seems even bigger than it did originally.  The darker carpet will be better at hiding accidents and it cozies things up a bit. We like having the carpet go back further since we didn't need as much wood floor as was originally there.  I got a little desk (with a lot more storage and no shelves to fill) to put in one corner. I'm still brainstorming what will go permanently in the other, but for now the space is reserved for a Christmas tree.   Thanks mom and dad, we couldn't have done it without you!

Dedication Weekend

This past weekend we dedicated Addie at church.  It was such a blessing to be surrounded by family and friends. Thinking about Addie, not as a baby, but as an eternal soul, can be overwhelming. I'm humbled to think that God has trusted us with such a task of raising her. As parents, Bryan and I, are still learning to lean on God throughout the entire process..but we aren't always sure what that looks like and what specific applications are.  It is very uplifting to be surrounded by people..an entire church full of people...vowing to support and help along the way.  We aren't raising Addie alone. First, we can do nothing great apart from God.  And secondly, the church has our back.  And our family has our back.  We are so grateful.

Pastor John Piper shared a great messaged based off of the text in  Philippians 1: 12-26. The message discussed how God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in him. I would encourage any of you reading this to check it out.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

Addie did good during the service, though she was trying to tell a story while the Pastor was trying to pray

Celebrating 8 months

The 8th month has been full of a lot of excitement and continued changes.  This past week I turned the corner walking up the stairs, and there was my baby standing at the top of the stairs looking through the bars of the gate. I just stood there for a minute and felt my heart flutter. Wasn't it just yesterday we brought this baby home afraid we would break her?

This past month Addie went from crawling, to pulling herself up in the standing position. She is even fairly stable most of the time!  Yesterday I noticed her making her away along the couch...I have a feeling we will have  a walker on our hands before too long. Her eyes are always on something out of reach, she is a busy little lady...as you'll notice by her blurred image in most of her pictures.

Addie continues to sleep through the night most of the time but when she does get up she goes right back to sleep after a bottle.  She is still a very happy baby in general, though she puts up quite the fuss when going into her carseat.  Our baby girl is learning to interact with other kids, which is really fun to watch.

Here are some fun pictures from her 8th month!

Hanging out with G & G Pearson and fun times with the Magnusons!

Addie's first Twins game was a hit (har har, pun intended!)
Ringing in Grandma Bock's 50th with her
First trip to the pumpkin patch

Decked out in her Hawkeye gear

 Addie still loves her baths
 Playdates with good friends
Watching Mia through the front door

Prefers to hold her own bottle

 Standing ever moment she gets!
 Always wakes up so happy
First bout with diaper rash = play time without a diaper
Mia never gets the chance to relax anymore :)
8 Months!  Doesn't sit still for 2 seconds at a time.
This outfit is one that I wore when I was a baby, I recently went through my keepsakes box.
Doesn't she look so big standing?

Until next month, love you baby girl!
